Laura Hopkins served as the Electronic and Information Resources (EIR) Accessibility Coordinator at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she leads digital accessibility initiatives since late 2018.
Her work spans accessibility governance for enterprise systems, digital content, and technology procurement — partnering with vendors to address accessibility requirements and integrating inclusive practices into agency-wide workflows alongside Information Security and Enterprise Architecture teams. Twice she hosted EIR Accessibility Workshops attracting attendees from across Texas and Louisiana.
Laura holds a Master of Science in Information and Technology Management (MS ITM) and is a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) through IAAP. She is also a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute and holds State of Texas procurement certifications (CTCD and CTCM). She has presented at events hosted by the Texas DIR, EDUCAUSE [poster session], TxDLA, NAEP–TOAL, TV-AiD Ignite, and the TTLE conference.
Laura brings practitioner-level depth to every presentation — drawing on real governance work, compliance programs, and enterprise implementations to give audiences strategies they can act on immediately. She earned the status of Silver Able Toastmaster in the '90s and has decades of experience speaking before audiences large and small.
